Harrison Just Didn't Have It Today

Actually, none of the Rangers have been particularly sharp on the mound today.  Nippert and (to a lesser extent) Wright were fortunate to get through their innings without more substantial damage.  Meanwhile, on the other side, Rangers fans had to suffer through watching Nick Masset racing through two hitless innings on only 20 pitches.  As if the Danks vs. McCarthy comparisons aren't painful enough...

Nice to see Byrd drive somebody in for a change, but it looked like he pulled something on his prior swing.  Probably nothing serious, but I wasn't surprised to see Boggs pinch hit for him in the 8th.

Kinsler has another great game.

Why does Milton Bradley get those waist-high pitches that are six inches out of the strike zone called as strikes *so* often?  This is the third game recently where I've noticed umpires doing that.  It must have something to do with his stance, or where he stands in relation to the plate.  As Tom Grieve noted on the telecast, Thome gets the benefit of those calls...but not Bradley.

It says a lot about the Rangers when you fall behind 4-1 in the 2nd and you have no fear that the Rangers won't catch up.  You just need the pithcers to try and minimize the damage.

Still in the 8th inning, but it is a real treat to see Ramirez improving at the plate.  His three hits today has pulled his average up above .250; the kid is barely in his 20's.

Go Rangers!
